"Tell 'Em" by Sleigh Bells

Live performance at Ridgewood Masonic Temple. Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

There are a lot of people in Brooklyn who turn up their nose at any music that receives any hype for its quality. Sleigh Bells have received a lot of hype over the last few months, but I feel the hype is entirely justified. The music on their album, "Treats," is the most creative music I have heard in a long time. It has no genre. It's a new sound, one that is highly enjoyable and great to dance to.

I want to fly to Paris and see them on the 28th but I don't think my parents would be down with that. I really love this band. A lot.

Hey!

Dear Readers,

I decided to make a music blog today. I'm going to be working at 101.9 RXP over the summer, and I'll probably have a lot of stories, photos, music, etc from the experience. I start on Tuesday at 5:00 AM.

Until then, check out this playlist:

Heroin - The Velvet Underground
Visions of Johanna - Bob Dylan
Gigantic - The Pixies
Debaser - The Pixies
Teen Age Riot - Sonic Youth
Queen Bitch - David Bowie
Disorder - Joy Division
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
Queen Jane Approximately - Bob Dylan
Grass - Animal Collective

Hope you enjoy the playlist there. Rock on.

Love,
Justice
